Position Summary:

Burlington is on an exciting data-driven transformation journey to deliver off-price analytics & insights and to expand the adoption of responsible AI across the entire organization.  The VP will head this strategically important department and will oversee major investments and projects in this space. The ideal candidate for this highly visible and influential role will have extensive experience leading a data and analytics organization, successfully implementing strategies and cloud technologies in the data, analytics and AI space with subject matter expertise to be a thought leader for the organization. The VP will partner with key senior and executive leaders of the company to build the overall strategy and execute on a plan that will differentiate Burlington. This role will oversee Data Engineering, Data Science, Data Visualization, Analytics Insights, Cloud Data Architecture and AI functions and be responsible for the overall Data / Analytics / AI strategy.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Drive Future Technologies

• Lead the Data, Analytics and AI vision, strategy and roadmap that would enable cloud-based analytics and insights across the organization and lay the foundation for data driven AI adoption within the broader organization.
• Establish Data Governance, Cloud Operational and Support model, robust methodologies and best practices to sustain the organization for the future
• Stay ahead of the data, analytics and AI trends and drive technology driven business innovation, participate in technical and industry societies and committees to enhance knowledge of new technologies or issues in areas of company interest

Partnering with Business Partners

• Partner with senior and executive leadership, solution providers, consulting partners, vendors, IT infrastructure and security teams to prioritize strategic initiatives and to deliver solutions aligned with the overall business goals of the organization
• Deliver on key strategic projects aligned with the overall Burlington 2.0 strategy in the Merchandising, Supply Chain, Stores, HR and Marketing space, and projects that drive predictive analytics and AI adoption for the broader organization.

Lead a proactive, data driven, team

• Develop, mentor, guide a team of data, analytics and AI professionals including Data & Cloud Engineers, Visualization Specialists, Analytics Translators, Data Scientists, AI/ML Engineers
• Be a data, analytics and AI thought leader and establish Burlington as an innovator within retail space in the industry

Education and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or other technical discipline

Experience:

• 15+ years of data analytics experience, 10+ in a technical leadership capacity

• Visionary executive with ability to challenge the status quo and think outside the box to help drive business innovation using technology
• Exceptional story-teller – someone who can articulate value add from data & analytics solutions; ability to engage with senior executives and help articulate complex technologies in an easy-to-understand language
• Coach and mentor a large team of highly competent technology professionals
• Entrepreneurial spirit with execution-based focus and speed to market with pragmatic approach
• Proven expertise in modern data architecture, AI/ML, cloud, Data Ops, MLOps and data governance technologies
• Deep understanding of various cloud solutions and ability to engage with them to build the data and analytics solutions
• Passion and intellectual curiosity to stay ahead of the data and analytics trends
