The Vice President of Human Resources Transformation will lead and shape how our organization approaches HR to ensure we are prepared to deliver most effectively as Burlington grows and scales its operations. This executive is responsible for redesigning HR systems, structures, and processes to enhance employee experience, improve operational efficiency, and drive business alignment. A key component of the role includes managing and optimizing the relationship with an external consulting partner to ensure successful design and delivery of transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the strategic planning and execution of large-scale HR transformation programs.
- Redesign organizational structures, HR operating models, and service delivery approaches.
- Assess current HR processes, identify inefficiencies, and implement innovative solutions to improve organizational effectiveness.
- Directly manage the relationship with an external consulting firm, including contract oversight, scope management, deliverable quality, and alignment with business goals.
- Drive adoption and optimization of digital HR technologies, including cloud-based HCM platforms, automation/including those enabled through AI, etc.
- Lead change management, communication, and training initiatives associated with transformation efforts.
- Collaborate closely with HR Business Partners, HR Centers of Excellence (CoEs), and business unit leaders to align HR strategies with organizational goals.
- Oversee project governance, budget, timelines, and success metrics for HR transformation initiatives.
- Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and operational excellence across the HR function (e.g., design to associate and manager self-service and assess the external landscape to procure technology to support shared services).
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field.
- MBA or related advanced degree strongly preferred.
Experience:
- 15+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, including 5+ years in an HR transformation leadership role.
- Proven track record of delivering enterprise-wide transformation initiatives in complex, matrixed organizations.
- Demonstrated experience in managing external consulting firms or system integrators, including contract negotiation, performance oversight, and integration with internal teams.
- Deep understanding of HR technology platforms, digital enablement, and data analytics.
- Experience leading change management and organizational design programs.
- Familiarity with agile methodologies and design thinking is a plus.
