The Industrial Engineer, Excellence plays a critical role in advancing Burlington Stores, Inc.’s supply chain objectives by leading and supporting engineering-driven initiatives. The role will manage various project tasks—including ideation, business case development, implementation, change management, and value realization—while partnering closely with key stakeholders across Distribution Center Operations and Transportation.
A Day In The Life:
Identify productivity and process improvement opportunities by providing insightful analysis and compelling recommendations.
Collect Distribution Center (DC) observations, assess current operations, and collaborate with subject matter experts across corporate and DC teams to uncover areas for improvement.
Apply engineering principles to design robust project plans, establishing clear milestones and timelines.
Drive supply chain improvement initiatives through cross-functional DMAIC projects, maintaining a rigorous and structured approach.
Create and manage project documentation, including project charters and Gantt charts, to ensure alignment among key stakeholders.
Proactively identify and resolve roadblocks and challenges to ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope.
Support the design and implementation of material handling equipment across new, expanded, and existing network facilities.
Utilize strong data analysis skills to validate project hypotheses and monitor ongoing improvements.
Conduct work sampling, cost justifications (return on investment), and cost/benefit analyses to support project outcomes.
Ensure the successful handoff of completed projects and initiatives to operational teams.
Design tools, reports, and documentation to track and sustain project results over time.
You'll Come With:
Ability to stand for extended periods in a warehouse environment for time studies and work sampling.
Ability to sit for extended periods while performing data analysis and reporting.
Capable of lifting up to 40 pounds during method testing or system start-ups.
