The Strategic Analysis arm of the PIC (Profit Improvement Contribution) team supports internal business areas with tracking, validating, and reporting the net EBIT impact created through large, strategic initiatives. The team provides modeling and reporting assistance to projects with complex and/or cross-functional financial impacts. Analytical findings are shared with business partners and executive leadership to support future decision making based on project successes and risks. The analyst’s primary responsibility is to support the PIC senior manager in accurately reporting the progress of strategic initiatives. The analyst will be expected to track project updates, measure the financial impact of various projects, and generate reporting that provides insight to support effective business decisions.

A Day In The Life: 

• Analyze and validate the financial impact of initiatives based on a deep understanding of the projects and the overall business impact of each initiative.
• Support senior manager for assigned projects by assisting in the development and construction of models for analyses to determine the potential or actual financial impact, and providing analytical insights.
• Maintain consistent and up-to-date tracking of all assigned project including project details, progress updates, and expected costs and savings impacts.
• Help to create materials to summarize analytical findings effectively that are curated to the audience (Excel analyses, dashboards, PowerPoints, etc.).
• Support senior manager with meeting management, which includes scheduling, preparing materials, notetaking and ownership of action items discussed.

You'll Come With: 

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance or other analytical field.
• 2 – 5 years of experience with data and/or financial analytics.
• Experience working with multiple levels of management and in cross-functional environments.
• Experience organizing, tracking, and monitoring the progress of complex initiatives.
• Very strong analytical skills with expert Excel experience required.
• Retail and corporate office work experience preferred.
• Ability to analyze data and perform financial analysis.
• Strong understanding of business and accounting principles including cost drivers and P&L impacts.
• Experience with leveraging critical thinking abilities to solve complex problems.
• Ability to meet deadlines and satisfy customers with multiple and conflicting priorities.
• Highly organized and detail oriented.
• Proficient with Word and PowerPoint.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Scope and Impact:

The analyst position will report directly to the senior manager of Strategic Analysis. Accountable for the tracking, measurement and validation of the financial impact of strategic initiatives. This position has a significant role in supporting the company’s culture of associate involvement in profit improvement and is integral in providing meaningful contribution to the profitable growth of the company. The scope of this position is companywide, with interaction across all departments, functions, and levels of the organization.
