Overview

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Capital Project Execution to oversee the management and execution of fixture and graphic installations for various capital projects, including new stores, remodels, downsizes, national rollouts, and special projects. The Director will collaborate closely with internal teams such as Special Project Planning, Fixture Purchasing, Graphics, and other departments to develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring the work is completed on time and within budget.

 

This role also focuses on process improvements, cost-saving initiatives, and enhancing the customer and associate experience while maintaining high project standards. The Director will contribute directly to the company's profitability and success by managing multiple projects and ensuring alignment with broader business objectives.

 

A Day In The Life:

  • Lead and oversee all aspects of project management for New Stores, Store Capital Projects, Graphics Projects, Fixture Rollouts, and National Rollouts.
  • Vet project requests, develop accurate scope of work, and create project plans.
  • Monitor and track project timelines to ensure milestones are achieved.
  • Develop budgets/cost estimates and ensure alignment with financial parameters.
  • Lead meetings with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and timely information flow.
  • Collaborate with Procurement to assign bidders, review bids, and select installation vendors.
  • Manage the execution of projects, ensuring contractors and vendors meet predetermined quality and installation standards.
  • Conduct store visits and final fixture checks to ensure adherence to product quality and installation standards.
  • Provide weekly updates to the department Vice President and other stakeholders on project status.
  • Propose and implement process improvements to optimize project efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Develop, manage, and track project budgets to ensure financial targets are met.
  • Minimize change orders and manage the change order process effectively.
  • Provide monthly budget and forecast updates to the department Vice President and Finance partners.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Finance, Fixture Purchasing, and Project Planning, to maintain accurate budget projections.

 

You'll Come With:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 7-10 years of project management experience with a strong understanding of construction, installations, and retail operations.
  • Expertise in project management, including scheduling, budgeting, and vendor management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and project management tools.
  • Strong financial acumen and ability to manage budgets effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills (both oral and written) and the ability to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple, competing priorities.
  • A strong sense of urgency and problem-solving ability to drive projects to completion on time.
  • Occasional travel required (10-20%).
  • Ability to lift up to 10lbs.
