Overview

Burlington Stores, Inc. is seeking an Energy Services Analyst-EMS, who will be responsible for the day-to-day operations and administrative management of Burlington’s Energy Management Systems (EMS) portfolio. The Energy Services Analyst-EMS will remotely monitor the energy management systems for all stores and corporate buildings to ensure occupant comfort and maximize energy efficiency. In addition, this position will oversee operating schedule changes in lighting and temperature to accommodate the ever-changing needs of the stores, DC’s, and corporate buildings. This position has an impact on the $100M dollar annual utility expense budget by ensuring all stores and corporate buildings run as efficiently as possible while also ensuring occupant comfort.

 

A Day In The Life:

Energy Management Systems (EMS) Lead; Support, Operation, and Troubleshooting

  • Act as key resource on the Energy team in EMS systems monitoring to ensure comfortable environments while also maximizing energy efficiency.  Use the EMS system to remotely diagnose store temperature & comfort issues and dispatch service to make repairs.
  • Troubleshoot daily incoming EMS tickets from Burlington’s facilities management tool, Service Channel and receive direct calls from stores, DC’s, and corporate facilities.  Assist in EMS troubleshoot coverage of new stores, relocations, downsize locations, and remodels, including four days per month overnight and weekend EMS emergency troubleshoot coverage.
  • Perform all operating schedule changes for seasonal and one-time needs via EMS.
  • Make proactive adjustments to operating schedules and temperatures remotely through EMS for hot/cold store calls & occasional overnight store occupancy.
  • Maintain individual user license access credentials (Burlington employee and vendor users) to access EMS network connections.
  • Support electrical and HVAC contractors during onsite repairs, EMS equipment testing or upgrades. Make remote changes via EMS to confirm contractor on-site repairs.
  • Route complex service calls: Provide advice on best team or individual to address issues, troubleshooting, tracking to completion & resolution.
  • Support processes in coordination with EMS vendors to manage and report EMS software changes and regular version upgrades.
  • Provide support for testing, implementation, and maintenance for all corporate demand-side energy savings initiatives, coordinating with vendors, team members, and EMS technicians.

Energy Data Analytics & Support

  • Develop and present EMS reporting to Energy team for proactive issue management and energy efficiency insights
  • Generate data sets from Service Channel, EMS platforms, and other data management tools to support the Energy team in calculating and validating savings.
  • Perform pre/post kW and kWh analysis for projects undergoing major revisions; remodels, downsizes, etc.
  • Perform pre/post kWh and kW analysis for energy capital projects and initiatives.

 

You'll Come With:

  • Education and Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree preferred; or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of increasing responsibility in the management and improvement of energy processes.
  • Knowledge of mechanical, lighting, and electric systems.
  • Knowledge of industry best practices and quantitative analysis for energy efficiency.
  • Basic knowledge of energy management strategies and controls systems.
  • Proven ability to independently manage multiple projects to timely completion.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Vendor management experience preferred.
  • Basic analytical skills, including proficiency in Excel and other analytics tools.
  • Ability to communicate and interact with staff at all levels within the company as well as outside the company.

 

Scope and Impact:

  • Interacts daily with Store Operations, Facilities, Landlord Relations, Lease Administration, and outside vendors; weekly with Construction, Finance and Supply Chain; and occasionally with Procurement, Legal and Real Estate.
  • This position has an impact on the $100M dollar annual utility expense budget by ensuring all stores and corporate buildings are run as efficiently as possible while also ensuring occupant comfort.
