Our Manager, International Logistics will oversee the strategy and execution of all international drayage activity into the East Coast while managing relationships with 3PL’s and local DC team members to support the ongoing optimization of a cost-effective, service-centric, and high-performing East Coast transportation network. As an experienced subject matter expert for drayage, marine terminal and DC yard operations, this role will leverage a deep understanding of both operations and analytics to relentlessly mitigate delays, demurrage and detention costs and will engage in an ongoing pursuit of data integrity within the entire drayage management and billing process.

A Day in the Life

• Develop and maintain transportation analytics, encompassing the entire scope of daily operational processes from booking at origin through delivery to DC. Mentor & guide International Logistics Specialists-I & II to achieve the highest measurable levels of service, commitment to on-time shipping and overall data integrity. Be able to backup International Logistics Specialist-I & II and Manager duties as needed.
• Maintain KPI’s, utilize quantitative skills to create and analyze reports to support the business. Hold regular discussions with service providers to evaluate their performance analytics and hold them accountable to satisfactory service levels. Own and update service providers SOPs to ensure Burlington’s operational needs are well documented and executable.
• Identify international logistics process improvement opportunities through strategic thinking and analysis. Develop or recommend new business tools and solutions to management on how to optimize the flow of imported product and drive cost savings. Complete various projects as assigned by the management team.
• Manage vendor/supplier partner relationships as it relates to the realm of international transportation, supporting with information and helping to settle disputed matters in favor of Burlington’s greatest interests. Take lead on supporting import treasury accrual process by validating and supplying accurate data and urgently work to resolve any discrepancies.

You Will Come With

• Bachelor’s degree in business and/or Supply Chain Management or equivalent work experience
• 10+ years of international import operations/logistics experience preferred.
• Experience working with excel and utilizing to pull reports and analyzed data.
• Experience with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
