We are seeking to add a Procurement Specialist to our growing team! In this role, you will ensure that the supply chain needs of Burlington are met in a timely and cost-effective manner. The Procurement specialist will review costs, develop relationships with vendors & suppliers, and business stakeholders and offer suggestions for where and how much material and supplies to buy. You will also work closely with the Category Manager on a variety of tasks to drive and ensure Procurement best practices.
A Day in the Life:
- Sourcing
- Identify business needs through spend analytics and demand forecast management.
- After analyzing spend and aligning on with the business on the objectives, strategy, and requirements, create and execute RFIs/RFPs to drive improvements through cost optimization, and process improvements.
- Identify and pre-qualify suppliers of goods and services through the approved vendor due diligence process.
- Negotiate terms and conditions including but not limited: pricing, quality of goods, ship dates, etc. for new and replenishment orders. Supplier List Management.
- Procurement Operations
- Research and process requisitions; creating, coding and issuing Oracle Purchase Orders for indirect goods and services.
- Own and manage the relationship with assigned vendors.
- Resolve and find solutions to issues the business may have with vendors.
- Analyze invoices to ensure accuracy of goods delivered. Work closely with AP to resolve any issue with invoices.
- Preparation and validation of month-end supply accrual reporting; Supported by on-going maintenance of Oracle Purchase Orders.
- Other Procurement and Business Activities:
- Performs business critical functions on a project basis as required, supporting all areas of the business to ensure successful implementation of new processes.
- Maintain effective communications with existing vendors to ensure consistent support to the business.
- Ensure the execution of the procurement plan for assigned categories.
You’ll Come With:
- A 2 or 4 year degree; commensurate experience will also be considered.
- Proven experience developing business-specific contracts and agreements, including purchases of materials and supplies, contract negotiations and inventory management.
- Skilled in MS Office programs, including MS Excel.
- Exposure to using Oracle a plus.
- Detail-oriented team player with negotiation abilities and independence in managing processes.
- Strong interpersonal skills, adept at collaborating with executives, suppliers, vendors, and supply chain managers.
- Experienced in cost assessment, vendor negotiation, inventory management, supply analysis, conflict resolution, and bid placement.
