As a Procurement Manager - Supply Chain at Burlington Stores, Inc. you will partner closely with the Category Managers and Business Unit Stakeholders to influence spend on both an operational and project basis. You will work closely with other business units throughout the enterprise as needed to drive savings.
A Day In The Life:
- Provides support to design and implement cost savings projects across multiple indirect procurement categories, with a focus on categories such as Supply Chain, Distribution Centers, Marketing, HR, Finance and Legal.
- Perform functions including analyzing third party spend, sourcing, and performing market analysis to identify opportunities.
- Develops relationships and provides leadership influencing strategic category direction to executive management and cross functional teams performing RFx activities including supporting various business requirements.
- Works across pyramids to drive value and provide strategic guidance while ensuring adherence to procurement process and compliance to policies across the enterprise.
- Manage the spend visibility and reporting responsibilities and staff.
- Manage the analytical support staff.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Spend Visibility Management:
- Oversee the Indirect Spend Management system
- Ensure accurate categorization of spend data
- Provide regular standardized spend reports
- Manage Procurement Sourcing Analyst
Sourcing Analytical Support:
- Supervise, train, and evaluate Sourcing Analysts
- Manage workload and prioritize Sourcing Analysts' tasks
Sourcing:
- Lead Sourcing Events across categories
- Execute RFIs, RFPs, and negotiations for cost savings
- Facilitate cross-functional sourcing teams
- Negotiate contracts and define key terms and metrics
- Support stakeholder initiatives
Contract Management:
- Oversee post-sourcing contract review and execution
- Maintain contract status in the management tool
Strategy:
- Aid in category strategy development and execution
- Conduct cost evaluations, market research, and pricing audits
- Analyze category markets and assess risk
- Collaborate with suppliers for cost and performance improvements
- Monitor purchasing reports and ensure policy compliance
- Implement efficient purchasing processes and tools
Supplier Management:
- Monitor supplier performance and KPIs
- Resolve supplier performance issues
- Manage key supplier relationships
- Maintain regular supplier contact
- Drive continuous improvement and cost reductions
You'll Come With:
- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, Finance or Business, MBA a plus
- C.P.M., C.P.P or C.P.P.C. Certification a plus
- 5-7 years of procurement experience in a multi-site environment supporting multiple business units
- Experience with Material Handling Equipment (MHE) required
- Diversified background with exposure to Supply Chain Operations, Project Management, Supplier Relationship Management, Finance, contract negotiations, and/or strategic sourcing
- Good understanding of procurement trends and best practices (i.e. reverse auctions, e-sourcing, etc.)
- Strong negotiation skills and knowledge of the sourcing process, legal terms related to purchasing contracts and framework agreements
- Strong command of vendor performance management and vendor metrics measurement
- A general understanding of the contract execution and administration process
- Experience with developing and implementing successful cost saving initiatives
