Overview

Come join our growing team at Burlington as an IT Support Specialist I! This position is familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on direction from management and peers to accomplish goals. The support will be primarily be in person and may often require phone and other forms of remote communication. The position performs a variety of tasks in and related to the field of technical support. He or she will work as an individual and as a member of a team under the guidance of the Client Technologies Supervisor, a Project Manager or a Team Lead. Working with supervision and attention to detail is essential to the success of the position. As an IT Support Specialist I, the candidate will provide the team with the completion of essential functions allowing the Technical Services team to succeed.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide effective end user hardware and software support.
  • Act as a team member on departmental projects, including, but not limited to, large scale software/hardware upgrades/migrations.
  • Provide documentation regarding steps taken to resolve issues and fulfill requests in the form of incident diary entries and department status reports.
  • Provide limited training of end users.
  • Effectively address tasks in a timely manner. Effective and efficient resolutions are essential.
  • Provide excellent customer service regarding timeliness, communication and follow up.
  • Provide detailed documentation regarding steps taken to resolve issues and fulfill requests in the form of incident diary entries.

Skills and Abilities: 

  • Strong skills in troubleshooting the following: Windows 7, Microsoft Office Suite, OSX, IOS, Internet applications, third party applications.
  • Strong Customer Service skills are required.
  • Networking principles including routing, switching, and wireless communications
  • Organizational, Verbal and written communication skills a plus  

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs
  • Travel required

Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalent work experience required

Licenses/Certification/Registration:

  • A+ Certification, or equivalent certification relevant to PC support

Experience:

  • Possesses 1 to 3 years of relevant work experience/training in the field or in a related area required.
